The Site
Host: JustHost.com
2003 When I was 13 and just immigrated to Canada, a friend of mine introduced me to web designing. I was immediately attracted to the idea of drawing on computer, then turning it into a web page.
During the summer of 2003, I would often make at least 1 layout a day. Although I did not use Adobe Photoshop back then, I found other ways of making each layout look different. At that time, my site was named Blue Moon Kitty.2004 Designing without Photoshop was inconvenient in many ways. For one, the tools I could use was limited. Back then, I was also hosting on free hosting sites, so I wasn't able to do much with the limited space and features anyway. My first breakthrough came in 2004, when I finally installed Adobe Photoshop. Transforming my ideas from mere paper drawings to computer graphics became a lot easier after this. Then, I thought Blue Moon Kitty was becoming too childish, so I changed my site's name to Yukinu Designs.
2005 - 2006 2005 was a big turning point for me. I finally found a private host, Josh from Digital-Essence.net. After Josh was no longer able to provide hosting service, I found June of Xentia. When June had to close down Xentia, hiroko of Candy-Addiction took me in. Along with my generous hosts, I also had Ryan of Moonlit Magick and Mika of Kyuusho sponsoring me. This was also when I decided to collaborate with a friend, Michiyo; together we renamed the site to Autistic Fidelity.
2007 & hiatus However, designing and updating was becoming a chore for me as I entered my senior year in high school. I was completing my grade 10 violin examination at the time, and along with the university applciations, a part-time job and the extra curriculums at school, the pressure became overwhelming. Sad to say, I lost my muse. Ideas no longer came to me. So, when Hiroko closed down Candy Addiction, I did not even bother to backup my files.
2008 Though I closed my site, I never could completely leave the community. I still checked up on design sites every now and then. When university started, I found much more time on hand; and I started thinking about designing again. With a stable part-time job, I was able to afford a domain of my own. Simplice used to be my blog, so I registered simplice.org in 2008. I was took this as chance to finally learn how to code Wordpress themes. After much struggling, my first theme was finally finished.
now I missed the designing community. However, I was still slipping into muse block every now and then; and rebuilding an entire site was a lot of work. Finally, in summer 2009, I decided that it's about time for me to get off my lazy bum and start over again. I went through the dreadful procedure of name picking again, and finally settled on Muse City, a place where I can present my muse to the public.
So here you go, the complete history of how Muse City evolved. Hope you had fun reading all that ;)
